Jambo la kwanza, kukamilisha idadi ya siku za kufunga:
وَلِتُكْمِلُوا الْعِدَّةَ ……
“basi atimize hisabu”
Hapa tunasisitizwa kutimiza idadi kama inavyotakikana na sharia ya Saumu.
Jambo la pili Quran imetuwajibisha pia tuitimize saumu :
ثُمَّ أَتِمُّوا الصِّيَامَ إِلَى اللَّيْلِ
“Kisha timizeni Saumu mpaka usiku”.
Hapa panahitaji ufafanuzi juu ya matumizi ya maneno haya mawili kutoka katika lugha ya kiarabu. Tamko kukamilisha (kamala) ni kwa upande wa idadi ya kitu (quantitiy). Na tamko tamma ni kutimia kitu kwa kiwango thabiti cha kitu husika (quality), ikihusisha kila sifa iliyomo ndani ya kitu chenyewe. Kwa mfano, ukisema timu ya mpira imekamilika. Ina maana idadi ya wachezaji wa timu hiyo iko sawa. Si lazima wawe wachezaji hao ni mahodari , mahiri na wenye kiwango katika uchezaji wao. Lakini utakaposema timu imetimia, ina maana idadi iko sawa, lakini pia wachezaji hao wamesheheni kila aina ya sifa katika fani ya uchezaji mpira.
Allah Taala katika muktadha wa Swaumu kataja mambo yote mawili yapatikane ili Saumu iwe yenye kuleta uchamungu kikweli. Na hii ni dalili kuwa Quran ni maneno ya Allah Taala. kiasi kwamba kuna uangalifu wa hali ya juu katika kuteua maneno ili kufikisha ujumbe uliokusudiwa.
Tukirudi katika mada tutaona leo Swaumu zetu zinakamilisha idadi ya siku, lakini zina mapungufu katika kutimiza kiwango cha udhati wa Swaumu yenyewe. Hatusemi kuwa tusifunge hashalilah! lakini haya lazima tuyatafakari kwa kina.
Leo kwa kukosekana mtawala wa Kiislamu (Khalifah) Swaumu zetu zinapita katika mitihani migumu katika kila hali. Tunafunga ilhali tumezunguukwa na mazingara machafu kuanzia watu kutembea uchi, kula mchana, kubanwa kiuchumi nk. Leo tunahitaji tuwe na mtawala ili kuja kuwafunga minyororo mashetani wa kibinadamu ambao hulazimu wafungwe na wanadamu wenzao. Baada ya kufungwa minyororo mashetani wa kijini.
Zaidi ya yote hayo wakati sisi tukifunga, sehemu ya Ummah wetu dunia nzima kuanzia Syria, Somalia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Burma, Jamhuri ya Afrika ya Kati nk. wanaingia ndani ya mwezi huu mtukufu wa Ramadhani na kumaliza wakikabiliwa na mashaka mbalimbali ya mauaji, umasikini, mateso, kudhalilishwa na makafiri na vibaraka wao, kuvunjiwa heshima nk.
